Salt Spring Island is located in the Strait of Georgia off the eastern coast of Vancouver Island. It is the largest of the Gulf Islands with a population of 10,000 that grows to include another 10,000 in the summer. It boasts of having the mildest climate in Canada with a unique microclimate that brings long sunny days, especially in the summer and fall, with just enough rainfall to produce lush growth and a bountiful harvest.
